If you feel a worried thought creep up throughout the day or when it's time to go to bed, simply think to yourself "I'll worry about it later at my worry period," and then forget it. If it makes you feel better, make a worry list at these times and then look over the list during the worry period.
3. Try a relaxation technique or activity - When you start feeling overwhelmed and anxious, try a relaxation technique like rhythmic breathing or mediation. Look into joining a yoga class or enjoy the outdoors during a brisk walk.
4. Avoid procrastination - If your anxiety comes from things like paying bills or getting everything done at work, try to get these things done as soon as possible. Although it is easy to get so overwhelmed that you brush off the tasks for later, do your best to get what you dread most done first so that you do not have to worry about it later.
