With John Candy at his peak and a young Christie Brinkley, this classic spawned famous lines and hilarious sequences - as well as three sequels. Weekend at Bernie's
What could go wrong for a couple of guys propping up a deceased boss? A lot, it turns out. The movie may not be an oscar winner, but it still provides some light summer fun. With slapstick humor and barrels of hijinx, "Weekend at Bernie's" is a fun way of having a vacation without leaving your house.
Almost Famous
Although not technically a vacation, this movie treks all over the U.S. following the exploits of fictitious band Stillwater. Featuring a great soundtrack and solid performances from Kate Hudson, Patrick Fugit and Phllip Seymour Hoffman, "Almost Famous" shows viewers the backstage and road-tripping side of rock.
The Great Outdoors
Another John Candy vehicle, this story of oppositional in-laws provides a fun way to spend any summer month. With co-star Dan Aykroyd, Candy performs his traditional mistake-prone romp through the Wisconsin wilderness.
