If you are looking for the newest health craze, you have probably run into the idea of juicing. It refers to the idea that you can consume more vitamins and nutrients if you blend fruits, vegetables and supplements into a juice.
Consider how many whole carrots you could eat in one day. Could you eat five? You likely couldn't or wouldn't want to. The same goes for whole apples, oranges, beets or kale. For example, if you are hitting the gym or going on a hike, you may benefit from adding a scoop of protein powder to the mix. Feeling nauseous? Consider adding some fresh ginger to your drink as it can help with upset stomach and vomiting, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
You can also add in ingredients that you don't normally care for on their own. Spinach, collard greens and parsley, for instance, all have very little taste when added in a smoothie but offer outstanding amounts of nutrients. If you really want to mask the taste of unfavorable ingredients, counteract it with a powerful tasting food like pineapple.
